I had two exciting writing moments this week. The first was going over edits for a novella, accepting changes, and then passing the completed and edited manuscript back to my publisher. Another book that I can cross out in my spreadsheet now that it’s ready to go!
I also got book mail on Thursday. Yay! This was a charity anthology in the Unlimited Tails Series: Fairy Tails. This is the first anthology I’ve been part of, AND the proceeds are going to the Independent Cat Society. It was a good feeling to see my name listed on the cover with all of those other authors. And, of course, it’s always nice to see my words in print.

Authors who love a good challenge—and a good charity—come together with stories inspired by public domain fairy tales.
Revisit a beloved cinder girl, an angry hatter, perhaps even winter royalty. These stories will remind you of the simple fairy tales you once knew and loved. There’s one catch though: these fairy tale stories also include a furry tail…
Fairy Tails is a limited-release collection of stories included in The Unlimited Tails Series, all of which benefit the Independent Cat Society. https://www.facebook.com/INCatSociety]
The weather this week has gone back and forth between cold and warm, because this is Minnesota, so it can’t make up its mind whether it wants to be winter or spring. Fingers crossed that we don’t get an April blizzard like we have some previous years. I’m excited to be able to go on longer walks now that I don’t have to bundle up in five layers of clothing in order to not get frostbite. Being outside is good for writing inspiration--at least for me. I’m also pretty excited to start naming a new batch of spiders! Be prepared for creepy, crawly pictures coming soon.
On a completely unrelated note, I had a man who’s also an author DM me and--not for the first time--ask me why I don’t love him (*insert eyeroll here*). I very clearly and firmly (but I don’t think unkindly) laid out the reasons why I don’t have romantic feelings for this person--again, not for the first time. He then proceeded to tell me that none of that mattered to him. He just decided that we were dating all of a sudden. He claimed to not care that I didn’t return his feelings and said that I could pretend to love him.
Yeah, I wasn’t having any of that.
What fuels that kind of delusion? Mind you, I don’t know this person in real life--he’s never even heard my voice. And I’ve never shown any romantic interest in him, yet he seems convinced that I’m the only one for him. This isn’t the only guy who has sent me DM’s like this either. I feel like at some point, I should take all of these guys and mash them together to create a character. What do we think about that?
